## Abstract The decaying absorption of CH~3~ radicals at 216.4 nm has been followed over more than three half‐lives using a photoelectric split‐beam kinetic spectrometer. The rate constant for recombination __k__~r~ was found to be (5.60 Β± 0.76) Γ— 10^βˆ’11^ cm^3^/moleculeΒ·s.
