✦ Synopsis
A pulse sequence utilizing single or multiple spin echoes for the accurate measurement of relaxation rates of heteronuclear multiple-quantum coherences is suggested. It is shown that the relaxation rates obtained for the ( "G'H) zeroquantum and double-quantum coherences in chloroform agree with theoretical rates. The applicability of this method for determining the relative signs of smal1 coupling constants to quadrupolar nuclei is demonstrated.
