โฆ Synopsis
A micromethod was developed for the measurement of UDP-glucuronic acid present in samples as small as 60 mg of liver, kidney, small intestine, heart, or muscle. It utilizes the highly efficient tyramine-glucuronidating system, catalyzed by LJDP-glucuronyltransferase of guinea pig liver. The reaction is specific for UDP-glucuronic acid: UDP derivatives of glucose, galactose. N-acetylglucosamine, and xylose were inactive as conjugating agents. The concentration of UDPglucuronic acid, expressed as micromoles per 100 g wet wt of the following tissues of guinea pig, rat, and mouse are, respectively: liver.
