✦ Synopsis

Beam quality factor (M 2 ) and far-ΓΏeld scattering angle of LD end-pump Nd : YVO4 laser were measured by slit-scanning method. The experimental results showed that the laser operated on a multi-mode state. The corresponding analytical treatments for slit-scanning method and M 2 factor measurement also were presented in this paper.

MUSIC superresolution algorithm can estimate the DOAs (directions of arrival) of multiple waves closing less than the beam width. However, the MUSIC algorithm is usually applied to a DBF (digital beam forming) array antenna, and it was difficult to apply the method to scanning beam radar, which has
