β¦ Synopsis
Laser vaporization is shown to be an efficient source of ionic species for matrix studies. CT and other ions are produced by vaporization of graphite. A new spectrum characterized by !r,_ -19732 cm-', o;=1507f2 cm-r and 0;=1360+5 cm-' is detected and assigned to C: or, less probably, to C: . An effkient vibrational energy transfer between C2 and CT is observed.

integrated intensities and diffuse X-ray scattering were measured from highly oriented pyrolytic graphite to characterize the thermal displacement parameters. Values of the mean square displacements (uz) of the carbon atoms perpendicular to the basal planes are large, whereas, the displacements are
We present the case of a 67-year-old man with a stenosing leiomyoma of the esophagus, which led to dysphagia. Because of severe concomitant diseases, thoracotomy was not possible in this patient, Endoscopic laser ablation was a fast and successful treatment; more than 2 years have passed without any
Laser ablation of cryogenic films formed from mixtures of Cl2 and Xe is studied by measuring the velocity distributions of the vaporized products. The mean velocity of the products vaporized by 355 nm light depends strongly on the Cl2 fraction and the film thickness. In addition, the ablation of thi
