## Abstract Three potycyclic hydrocarbons, benz(__a__)anthracene, 3โ€methylcholanthrene and 7,12โ€dimethylโ€benz(__a__)anthracene, have been studied in a cellโ€mediated mutagenesis system using BHK 21 cells to metabolize the hydrocarbons and Vโ€79 cells as targets for detecting induced cytotoxicity and
