โœฆ Synopsis

C

ompetition for products and resources provides many organizations with compelling impetus to create economies across all of their activities. More and more, accounting departments are confronted with the dilemma of how to cut their operating costs without cutting back on services to the organization. According to Bragg, the solution to this dilemma often lies in the adoption of "best practices," which have evolved in a number of organizations and provided tried and true solutions to problems shared by accounting departments of all sizes. Cokins proposes the use of activity-based cost management (ABC/M) as an effective tool to enable managers to make more efficient product and resource decisions.
