One-dimensional compounds Ca 3 CoRhO 6 and Ca 3 FeRhO 6 have been newly synthesized and structurally characterized by Rietveld re5nement of powder X-ray di4raction data. Both compounds are isostructural with the rhombohedral K 4 CdCl 6 -type structure (space group R3 c; Z
