The first selenite chloride hydrates, Co(HSeO 3 )-Cl ´3 H 2 O and Cu(HSeO 3 )Cl ´2 H 2 O, have been prepared from solution and characterised by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The cobalt phase adopts an unusual ªone-dimensionalº structure built up from vertex-sharing pyramidal [HSeO 3 ] 2± , and o

The polythermal section at a constant composition of 20 mol% BaCl 2 of the quasi-ternary system BaCl 2 -BaO-CuO x was investigated at p(O 2 ) ‫؍‬ 0.21 bar by means of DTA/TG and soaking experiments. Our results show the nature of incongruent decomposition reactions of the quaternary phases Ba 3 Cu 2

The heat capacity of natural atacamite has been measured between T = 2 K and T = 305 K by cryogenic-adiabatic calorimetry. At T = 298.15 K, the standard molar heat capacity C°p,m and entropy S°m for atacamite are (19.16 2 0.07)•R and (20.18 2 0.08)•R (where R = 8.3144 J•K -1 •mol -1 ), respectively.
