✦ Synopsis

The electrical resistivity, the thermoelectric power, and the msgnetisation have been measured below 300K. u3Sn5 ahowsf emomsgnetic transitions near 7OK, while URu+ shows no magnetic trausition down tc 1.8K. Above the trausition temperature, the resistivity Of U3Sn.5 hCI,CB.WS with decreasing temperature reflectingKondoscattering.

At low temperatures, U3Sn5 shows peculiar magnetic behaviors.

A new ternary uranium-based intermetallic compound U 3 Ni 5 Al 19 has been synthesized. It crystallizes in the unique flat orthorhombic structure. Uranium atoms occupy two crystallographic 4c and 8f sites of quite similar local chemical environments. The temperature dependence of the magnetic suscep
