Magnetic and calorimetric properties of Ln 3 RuO 7 (Ln โ€ซุโ€ฌ Pr, Gd) have been investigated. Magnetic susceptibility and speci5c heat measurements indicate that both Pr 3 RuO 7 and Gd 3 RuO 7 compounds show magnetic transitions at 55 K and 15 K, respectively. In addition, a clear structural phase transition has been found at 382 K for Gd 3 RuO 7 from the speci5c heat measurements. From the temperature dependence of the magnetic speci-5c heat, the magnetic entropy change is estimated and the magnetic ground states of each ion are determined.

Crystal structures, and magnetic, electric, and thermal properties of 6uorite related compounds Ln 3 RuO 7 (Ln โ€ซุโ€ฌ Sm, Eu) have been investigated. For Eu 3 RuO 7 , a magnetic transition due to Ru 5 ุ‰ ions is found at T N โ€ซุโ€ฌ 22.5 K on the susceptibility+temperature curve. Speci5c heat measurements a
