✦ Synopsis

New York City, 1898 β€” Mae is a beautiful, fiesty and determined woman in an era where women should be seen and not heard. She's been spoiled and pampered as the baby of the family, but she's ready to leave her family behind to find freedom, and a life with fewer rules and restrictions.

As Valentine's Day approaches, she and her Bible study friends overhear a conversation about a young woman heading out West as a mail order bride, and Mae decides that that’s the ticket to her freedom. Her parents want to marry her off to a man of their choosing, but Mae decides that if she absolutely must marry, she will choose that man herself.

Her plan now set, she’ll head out West to marry Paul Randall and live the life she’s always imagined. But when she arrives in Arizona, she quickly realizes that her dreams may not turn out quite the way she’s planned.

Paul is a good, and kind man of faith, with a heart of gold. When he finally meets Mae, his mail order bride, he's struck by her beauty, yet taken aback at her strong will and independent ideas. He finds finds himself in a state of confusion and concern even as he becomes mesmerized by the beauty and spirited independence of a woman who refuses to let go of her dreams, and expectations.

Will Paul and Mae find the way to each other's hearts and a true partnership? Will Mae's Choice be all she hoped for? Or will the freedom she seeks elude her even in the Wild West?

In Kate Cambridge’s sweet romance stories, strong men and women of faith come together, often through difficult challenges and trials, to create a life they would not have any other way, and find a love they cannot imagine living without.
