β¦ Synopsis
Jewel and her friends were overlooked on Valentine's Day. The holiday was new, but it still hurt that the girls didn't have sweethearts to celebrate with. Then they agree to find suitors outside of New York City. And so Jewel began her correspondence with James. She started thinking of Laramie, Wyoming as a place she might want to live. She also started getting to know James through his fact filled letters. She decided he was going to be a good match for her.
She heads off to Wyoming to meet her future husband and she is taken by surprise that he had a prickly personality. She'd had hints that he wasn't a social butterfly, but that didn't bother her. But apparently, he was going to need some help to become someone she wanted to spend time with.
Love wasn't instant. In fact, there were bumps along the way. But love did come. Jewel found out that James needed her as much as she needed him. She had focused on her desire to get out of New York and believed that love would come with it, but she didn't consider that the man she would meet would need her, too.
