β¦ Synopsis
Energy migration has been directly demonstrated to be very efficient in solid polymers by studying the depolarization of the fluorescence of copolymer films as a function of composition. The results are compared with those obtained for the same copolymers in glassy solution. They indicate that migration is more important in bulk polymers than in dilute glassy solutions owing to intermolecular interactions in agreement with the structural models proposed for amorphous polymers.

The fluorescence spectra of amorphous atactic, amorphous isotactic and crystallized isotactic polystyrene films have been compared. The effect of chain orientation has also been analysed on amorphous atactic samples. The results show that the fluorescence yield increases with crystallinity at room t
Taiwan, Republic of China SYNOPSIS Poly(viny1 alcohol) metal chelate solutions were prepared by mixing silver nitrate with solutions of poly(viny1 alcohol), and films were prepared from these solutions. These poly(viny1 alcohol) metal chelate films were reduced by photographic developer. The silver
