An analysis of the electron spin resonance of hln 2\* in frozen methanoI is presented. The broadened, asymmetric lineshape is shown to be due to inhomogeneous broadenin, 0 caused by combined second-and third-order effects of randomly distributed zero-field splittings in the range of 80-15C G.

The distribution of the zero-field splitting sites experienced by the Mn 2+ ion in frozen methanol is investigated from the electron spin resonance lineshape at law magnetic field. Following the study of the manganese ion as a paramagnetic probe for structural investigation in glasses, we report so
Electron spin relaxation times of a Nycomed triarylmethyl radical (sym-trityl) in water, 1 : 1 water : glycerol, and 1 : 9 water : glycerol were measured at L-band, S-band, and X-band by pulsed EPR methods. In H 2 O solution, T 1 is 17 ยฑ 1 ยตs at X-band at ambient temperature, is nearly independent o
