We have studied the performance of two different 1 mm 2 area multi-pixel Geiger-mode avalanche photodiodes (MPGM APDs) recently developed by Centre of Perspective Technologies and Apparatus (CPTA) in Moscow. One of the devices was developed for the detection of UV and blue light, and the other has a
