A

version of the logistic equation that provides useful descriptive parameters for the asymptote, slope and inflection point of the curve is presented and is suggested for use. in empirically fitting S-shaped curves to data. A short SAS program that easily calculates the parameter values is shown.

Two BASIC computer programs using logit transformation for the analysis of S-shaped curves are presented. The first program estimates the median effective dose (ED%) of drugs. A maximum likelihood method similar to Finney's algorithm of probit analysis is applied. The second fits S-shaped curves to

In food chain models the lowest trophic level is often assumed to grow logistically. Anomalous behaviour of the solution of the logistic equation and problems with the introduction of mortality have recently been reported. As predation on the lowest trophic level is a kind of mortality, one expects

This paper introduces and provides an overview of social network theory and social network analysis (SNA) and its potential applications to logistics and supply chain management research. It then provides an example of the use of SNA via the introduction of hypotheses related to informal and formal

Mongoloid populations differ from Caucasoids by having a high prevalence of shovel trait and a low prevalence of Carabelli's trait. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the shovel trait on Carabelli's trait in a Mongoloid population. The research design sought a population that res
