Lainey is an average seventeen-year-old girl - or she was back in 2009 before she was murdered. She never expected not to get to graduate or not to get to grow up along with all her friends. What makes this worse is that she knows exactly who killed her and can't do anything about it as they walk free. She's stuck asking herself why this happened to her. What did she ever do to deserve this? Her life seems to be stuck in limbo until she happens to meet someone who just so happens to be able to talk to ghosts - and he could be the answer she was looking for.
