✦ Synopsis

Equations ( 16) to ( 19) in the paper with the above title [Europ. Polym. J. 9, 805 (1973)] are incorrect. They become correct if M~ + ~ is multiplied everywhere by M~,flvlz (r/= E, L or N; same meanings for symbols as before). This correction modifies slightly the coefficients and mean quadratic deviation(2) of method A, and also M~+ l of method B. The co___rrect values of 2 (method A) and M,+ I (method B) for polymers R2, R 1 and R3, are: 2 x l0 a = 0-50, 0-85, 0"58; M~+ t Γ— 10-5 = 1-70, 2.20, 3.61, respectively. The advantages of the linear combination are little changed by these new values.

## Abstract End‐capped, low molecular weight polymers have found numerous practical applications. By providing the end‐capper molecules with specific chemical functionality, the polymer material can be equipped with a desired chemical behavior for product application or polymer processing. Using pr
