✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Based on the reciprocity theorem, the light scattering from a spherical particle above a slightly dielectric rough surface is studied. The theoretical formulation that accounts for the near‐field interaction between a spherical particle and a rough surface is given, the analytical solution of the scattering cross section for the composite model is presented, and the backscattering cross sections are calculated and discussed in detail. ## Abstract In this article, an efficient hybrid MM‐PO method combining UV technique is applied to calculate the EM scattering from a 2D PEC target above a PEC rough surface. Considering the target as the MM region and the rough surface as the PO region, the current on the rough surface is obtained

## Abstract The diffuse multipath component is studied in land mobile satellite (LMS) built‐up propagation scenarios. The method of physical optics (PO) was implemented to model scattering from rough building facades. The results in terms of received power time‐series are used to obtain the average
