Abstract
The diffuse multipath component is studied in land mobile satellite (LMS) built‐up propagation scenarios. The method of physical optics (PO) was implemented to model scattering from rough building facades. The results in terms of received power time‐series are used to obtain the average multipath power level relative to free space for several roughness levels and various elevations and azimuths toward the transmitter. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
