✦ Synopsis

T he goal of the Duke Daytime MBA program is to provide a transformational experience that produces ethical leaders of consequence for organizations around the world. In providing this transformational experience we have a clear vision of Fuqua leadership. Our summary version of this is the phrase,"Ethical Team-Oriented Leader." In the more detailed version, Fuqua leadership displays three key elements:

β€’ Ethical individual leadership: Projecting your personal vision and values in an authentic way that allows others to know who you are and what you stand for. The courage to act constructively based on your beliefs even when others might not agree.

β€’ Ethical team leadership: Understanding how to develop others and apply your own and others' strengths and weaknesses to help maximize team effectiveness. Demonstrating understanding and respect for those whose styles, strengths, and weaknesses differ from your own while having the courage to challenge others when necessary.

β€’ Ethical community stewardship: Accepting the mantle of responsibility for an organization, group, or community with which you are associated and taking responsibility for creating that same sense of stewardship in others. Improving the organization and passing along the strongest possible legacy to those who follow.

## Abstract Evaluating the impact of an organization's efforts to develop leaders is challenging. However, if the evaluation is set up properly, it will not only improve development efforts, and thereby the quality of leadership, but also contribute to the effectiveness of the organization.
