Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) take advantage of recent developments in deep sub-micron VLSI technology. CMOS sensors now enjoy widespread commercial applications as inexpensive visible light-imaging devices. These are also being utilised and developed for an increasing number of scientific
