The A 2 -X 2 + (0,0) band of ZrN between 5620 and 5890 A has been studied using laser polarization, laser-induced fluorescence, and wavelength-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. All the 12 branches expected from a 2 -2 + transition have been observed and assigned. Both nondegenerate and degenerate

✦ Synopsis
The 0-0 band of the A ˜2P-X ˜2S / transition of CaCCH has been rotationally analyzed through CW dye laser excitation. A total of 440 rotational lines of this band were recorded with high precision, 0.0035 cm 01 . A least-squares fit of the line positions using a standard 2 P-2 S / model provides accurate molecular constants for both electronic states and confirms a linear equilibrium geometry of CaCCH. From the L-type doubling constant p £ determined in this work, the B ˜2S / electronic state is predicted to lie É1080 cm 01 above the A ˜2P state.
