โฆ Synopsis
The mechanisms of the photochemical reactions of triphenylgermane and I-naphthylphenylmethylgermane in solution were studied. by mzwxement of the trzxnsient absorption spectra of their triplet states and germyl radicals. The rate constant for the chlorine abstraction reaction by each radical with CC14 was determined to be (6.6 f 1.0) X lo8 s-l mol-' dm3 at 28S"C.
