โฆ Synopsis
Absorption spectra. fluorescence excitation spectra and fluorescence quantum yields, Y. from the !& manifold of 9.10dichloroanttuacene and anthracene cooled in planar supersonic expansions were simultaneously determined using a pulsed xenon lamp and a monochromator. The dependence of Y from photoselected viirationai states in the S1 manifold of 9.1 O-Jichloroamhracene on the excess vibrational energy eshibitsa "step-function-type" behabiour, which is attributed to intersystem crossing intermediated by a higher triplet state.
