โœฆ Synopsis

We report the first observation of cross fluorescent infrared emission bands from Ltser-acited alkali moiecules. One ek-ampIe. a newly observed band of G-2 between 1 SO and I.65 JL, is discussed in some da&. These new decay modes allow quantitative e\perimentaI studies of Iowv-lying and prekiously unobserred states of semde s.?. mmetry in akdi dimers In this paper we report on our recent observations

The infrared emission of electronically excited biacetyl molecules in the gas phase at low pressure was observed. Some experimental details are given, and it is shown that the emissicn derives from biacetyl molecules in their triplet state. The emission is dependent on the %=velength of excitation.
