โฆ Synopsis
The infrared emission of electronically excited biacetyl molecules in the gas phase at low pressure was observed. Some experimental details are given, and it is shown that the emissicn derives from biacetyl molecules in their triplet state. The emission is dependent on the %=velength of excitation. therefore it permits a study of the evolution of the Prepared.
state of the molecule into other states contained within its width.
