✦ Synopsis
A high resolution spectroscopic study of a fast N,O+ beam reveals an l-type resonance in the 020 level of the A *X + state. A value of 1.39 cm-' for the anharmonicity parameter g2, is obtained from a rotational analysis of the 020 *A-O20 % transition. This is the first determination of the constant gi2 for N,O+ and now a full analysis of the complex N,O+ A-z electronic spectrum is possible. In addition, an Z-type uncoupling is responsible for the first observation of a *Z +-*a transition.
