✦ Synopsis

A Future Chron Story.

What appeared to be a simple but ambitious goal of establishing a new colony in the Kuiper Belt, a colony to service mining activities there, was more than it seemed.

One side, led by the Solar Federation and the Jackson family, was determined to break humanity out of its centuries long stagnation and push it to embrace the stars. The other side, led by the Terran Federation, was determined to block such expansion and maintain its power.

It would be close but the stars were calling.

"Kuiper Station" is a story in the Future ChronΒ Series. This series of short stories published by Future ChronΒ Publishing ranges from near futureΒ to far millennial, from familiar Earth-based settings to distant worlds. This is hard science fiction, old school.

See the author's blog futurechronology(dot)blogspot(dot)com for more about the Future Chron Universe.

Several months ago F. B. J. Kuiper expressed the wish to relinquish his editorship in favour of M. Witzel. Since the foundation of the INDO-IRANIAN JOURNAL in 1956 he has devoted much of his time and energy to it. I have no doubt that the readers will join me in expressing our thanks to him for all
