## Abstract The effect of some hydrazone oxime derivatives on the corrosion of iron in 2M HCl have been studied by polarization and weight‐loss techniques. It was found that the compounds under consideration are adsorbed on the iron surface according toe the Temkin isotherm. The Tafel slope is appr

✦ Synopsis
The polarization b&&our of Arrnco iron in anhydrous solutions of CH,OH+HCI and CH,OH + HCl + LiCl was studied by the potentiostatic method. The following reaction orders were found for the anodic process: Z,(,,-) = 1.7-1.82 and Z,(,+) = 0. The following mechanism of dissolution is proposed: Fe +Cl-+FeCl,, F&l2 + Cl--t FeCl, f 2e (rate-determining step), F&l, *Fez+ +2Cl-.

## Abstract The kinetic of dissolution in the active and prepassive range of FeCrX alloys (X = 4.5; 11.7; 12.7; 13.6; 14.7 and 20.8M%) was investigated in dearated borate solutions (pH 3.5–5.45) and compared with corresponding data for Fe. After cathodic reduction instationary current density‐poten
The rate of dissolution of Armco Fe has been measured as a function of time for deaerated solutions of constant ionic strengtb (HCl + NaCl). For pH < 1.5, no appreciable change of the measured polarisation resistance was observed. For 1.5 -=I pH < 3 the polarisation resistance gave straight lines w
The kinetics of the layer formation process and the corrosion process have been determined from the relation between the stationary (i,J and non-stationary (i,) corrosion rates and the rate of layer formation (it) at passive iron in acid solutions. The rates of both processes depend on the poten- ti
