The reaction of chloro-p-nitrophenylcarbene with acetone to form carbonyl ylide is not reversible. The formation of carbonyl ylide through the carbene-cerbonyl reaction and the trapping of the carbonyl ylide as 1,3-dipolar cycloadduct by various substrates were reported. 1 However, the kinetics of
