## Abstract The oxidation of six aliphatic aldehydes by tetrabutylammonium tribromide (TBATB) in aqueous acetic acid resulted in the formation of corresponding carboxylic acids. The reaction is first order with respect to TBATB and the aldehydes. The oxidation of deuteriated acetaldehyde (MeCDO) sh
