β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Using the electroresistivity method the influence was investigated of the anodic and cathodic polarization on the crack growth rate during stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of Zr alloys in aqueous and nonaqueous electrolytes. The ambiguous effect of the cathodic polarization on CGR was observed. The role of local dissolution and hydrogen embrittlement by SCC of Zr alloys has been discussed in terms of the previously developed method of identification of the SCC mechanism.
