โฆ Synopsis
The rates of zinc incorporation, zinc demetallkon, and cupric ion displacement of zinc in a water-solubie porphyrin were investigated. The tetra-sulfonated tetraphenyiporphine TPPS (see Fig. 1) n-as employed in the studies. The rate of zinc ion incorporation was equal to [k,][Zn2+] EPPS J where kr = 4.76 X 10-l 3P secl at 30ยฐC; the rate of Zn-TPPS demetalIation is equal to 4[Zn-TPPS Jm+ft where ka = 10.9 ,?I? set-l at 30%; the rate of W* replacement in Zn-TPPS is equal to k&Zn-TPPS] [Cuz+J n-here X;n, = 5-1 x 10-s M-l set-' at 30ยฐC. These rate lags are discussed in terms of the possibIe mechanisms for the reactions studied.

A novel electrochemical approach was developed for the kinetic study of the formation of heteropolyanions. The method (dual pulse amperometry, DPA) is based on the detections of currents due to the transfers of polyanions at the nitrobenzene-water interface. In this study, DPA was applied to the kin
