β¦ Synopsis
Self-pumped parametric excitations in small Nb-Al203-Nb Josephson tunnel junctions strongly coupled to superconducting thin-film resonators have been studied. The large and nearly constant-voltage steps observed in the dc-IV characteristic at voltages corresponding to harmonics of the fundamental resonator-induced mode demonstrate sub-harmonic pumping of this mode.
