A laser-induced-fluorescence (LIF) investigation of the jet-cooled dimer of the aromatic molecule N-ethylcarbazole is presented. The dimer behaves essentially as a perturbed monomer. The origin is shifted bathochromically some 606.8 cm-' relative to that of the monomer, and this can be explained in
