Perhaps it was fortuitous that, while reading this book on a train journey, the Reviewer dropped asleep--but perhaps not! As exciting research areas, both ion exchange and solvent extraction have apparently passed their peak, which roughly coincided with the palmy days of the uranium boom for atomic
