Abstract
The renal excretion of AZAPROPAZONE‐DIHYDRATE (X) Handelsname: PROLIXAN®. Hersteller: Siegfried AG, Zofingen.
by humans was investigated. Following oral administration a new substance was detected in the urine besides X by TLC. Both compounds were separated by preparative layer chromatography and shown to be unchanged X and its hydroxylated metabolite VIII. The structure of VIII was established by chemical and spectroscopic methods (IR., NMR.) and confirmed by synthesis (Scheme 1).
