✦ Synopsis
Ripe fruits of Coriander sativum L. were extracted by steam distillation and by supercritical ¯uid extraction (SFE), using CO 2 in a two-stage separation system. An inexpensive thermal expansion procedure for supercritical ¯uid delivery has been developed. The identi®cation of components was performed by gas chromatography±mass spectrometry (GC±MS). The percentage composition of the 40 identi®ed compounds was compared with the composition of a commercial coriander oil extracted by hydrodistillation. # 1997 by John

## Abstract The isolation of the essential oil of coriander fruit by steam distillation is described. The chemical composition of the oil was investigated by means of gas‐liquid chromatography, column chromatography and coupled gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry. The 18 most important components
Flowers and leaves of pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium L.) were extracted using supercritical CO 2 followed by a two-stage fractional separation technique. Using a ¯ow apparatus with an extraction vessel (1 l) and two separators (0.27 l), the best conditions of extraction (P 100 bar and T 508C) and of se
