โœฆ Synopsis

The problem of the quantum generalization of the classical Nyquist formula is considered as a part of the general problem of the introduction of Langevin sources in the quantum dissipative equations. Two possible forms of the quantum Nyquist formula are discussed. It is demonstrated that the Lamb-Retherford experiment can be used as a crucial experiment to determine the choice of one of the two existing quantum generalizations of the classical Nyquist formula.

The connection between the Callen Welton formula and the quantum Nyquist formula is discussed.

The properties of the response function and the uctuation dissipation relation in phase-ordering systems are discussed. These issues are shown to be highly nontrivial even in the relatively simple case of coarsening dynamics considered here. It is discussed how the connection between statics and dyn
