โฆ Synopsis
Near Hartree-Fock calculations, with agaussian basis, show that Bei%e2 is stable against dissociation into Be2+He and He with dissociation energ D = 17.7 kcal/mole. The bindins mechanism involves nn ion-induced dipole interaction. The minimum energy E = -19.3888 au, occms for a symmetric linear molecule with the Be'+--He internuclear distance R = 2.72 au. Results for Be*%e, Hey, He%IH,, Hc'+H,, and !c are also discussed.
