✦ Synopsis
RM vs. Ho relationships of two homologous series of pyridyl alkyl ketones were determined for systems of the type organic solvent/aqueous hydrochloric acid. In accordance with theoretical anticipations, linear 22~ vs. Ho plots were obtained for Ho values in the range -I, +I, RM values for methylene groups were found to be constant in the systems studied so that the homologous series, especially z-pyridyl alkyl ketones, can be used as reference compounds for the chromatography of weak lipophilic organic bases in strongly acidic liquid-.,liquid partition systems.
