## Abstract A novel structural motif in oxalate bridged copper(II) complexes has been prepared namely a metallamacrocyclic compound of the dinucleating ligand 1,3‐bis[bis(2‐pyridylmethyl)amino]benzene (= 1,3‐tpbd). It could be demonstrated that the magnetic properties of copper(II) complexes of the
