The mechanical alloying of intermetallic compounds has attracted much attention in recent years. The formation of NiAl with B2 structure by mechanical alloying of Ni and Al powder mixture has been found to be an explosive exothermic reaction. In this paper, Ti and Fe elements were substituted for Al

✦ Synopsis
Creep data of three powder-metallurgy-processed dispersion-strengthened AI-Fe-Ni alloys are re-analysed in terms of the detachment model. It is shown that the data can be described by means of this model. However, the calculated stress dependence of the steady state creep rate at the highest temperature and the calculated radii of particles are smaller than the observed values.

Experimental creep results for Pb-9Sn, Zn-4OAI and Au-lONi solid solutions are investigated. The present analysis reveals the presence of two distinct deformation regions (climb and viscous glide) in the plot of log ~ vs. log tr for Zn-4OAI, in line with the results for Pb-9Sn and Au-lONi The climb-
