✦ Synopsis


Experimental creep results for Pb-9Sn, Zn-4OAI and Au-lONi solid solutions are investigated. The present analysis reveals the presence of two distinct deformation regions (climb and viscous glide) in the plot of log ~ vs. log tr for Zn-4OAI, in line with the results for Pb-9Sn and Au-lONi The climb-viscous glide criterion can predict satisfactorily the transition between the two deformation regions when accurate values for the alloy parameters (stacking fault energy, tracer diffusivity and shear modulus) along with the proper ratio constant (B ~. 5x 1013) are included in the analysis.
