โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
This paper presents a novel planar monopole, printed on both sides of a dielectric substrate, which can be concealed within the housing of a folderโtype mobile phone as an internal antenna. The proposed internal planar monopole antenna occupies a small area of 10 ร 40 mm^2^, and is capable of operating in the GSM/DCS/PCS bands. Good radiation characteristics for frequencies across the operating bands are also obtained. Details of the proposed antenna design and the obtained experimental results are presented. ยฉ 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel planar monopole antenna capable of multiโfrequency operation at about 900, 1800, and 2450 MHz is presented. The monopole antenna occupies a small area of 6.5 ร 50 mm^2^, and is easy to construct with low cost by printing on an FR4 substrate. The monopole antenna can be mounted p
## Abstract By using the upper and lower ground planes of a folderโtype mobile phone, a novel internal shorted dipole antenna for digital television (DTV) signal reception in the 470โ806โMHz band is presented. The shorted dipole antenna further comprises an internal matching circuit, which includes

## Abstract In this paper, we design and fabricate a broadband interiorโtype planar monopole with an omnidirectional radiation pattern over a wide operation band using a slanted feeding shape. It has a measured 10โdB impedance bandwidth of about 670 MHz (1585โ2255 MHz) covering the DCS (digital cor
The proposed internal antenna has a small thickness of only 3 mm, yet it is capable of providing two wide operating bands at about 0.9 and 2 GHz so as to meet the bandwidth requirements of the GSM/DCS/PCS/UMTS systems. Details of the design considerations of the proposed antenna are described, and t
