The interaction between selenium derivatives (sodium selenate, sodium selenite, selenourea, and DL-selenomethionine) and heavy metal ions (Cu 2/ and Pb 2/ ) was studied by polarography in aqueous solutions. Selenate does not interact with the selected ions; while selenite form a 1:1 soluble complex

Thin oxide films formed on aluminium in dtifcrent nitrate solutions have been examined by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It has been shown that the adsorption of nitrate ions on the oxidized surface of aiuminium is followed by their reduction inside the oxide film. The mechanism of this
