## Abstract Estrogen effects on mammary gland development and differentiation are mediated by two receptors (ERα and ERβ). Estrogen‐bound ERα induces proliferation of mammary epithelial and cancer cells, while ERβ is important for maintenance of the differentiated epithelium and inhibits proliferat
