Several compounds from Piper species bearing methylenedioxyphenyi moieties are reported for the first time to effectively inhibit the rat liver microsome-mediated afiatoxin B~-DNA binding in vitro. From the preliminary results obtained, a structure-activity relationship is proposed. Attatoxin B 1 (
